Caryn & Aaron's Winter Wedding
Caryn and Aaron had a beautiful, classic winter wedding in December 2021. They married in the stunning 17th century Cockliffe Country House. Set in the heart of Nottinghamshire, this house has a rich history of both notable and royal visitors. Their photographer was the passionate and talented Esther Louise Triffitt. Caryn wore a Helen Moore faux fur Stole cover up in Ivory Cloud.
Tell us about the big day:
Classic winter wedding - lots of gold, creams and greenery. It was relatively intimate (around 60 guests). Family and close friends. Our two boys, aged 8 and 3, were our page boys. My sister and best friend was my bridesmaid. Our ceremony and reception were at the same venue. We had a harpist play at our ceremony and drinks reception and a live band later in the evening. The atmosphere was great - most people up on their feet dancing for the duration.

What inspired the design and theme of your wedding?
We just wanted something simple and timeless.
When did you start planning your dress and accessories?
Originally started planning pre covid. We had to postpone a year and so it all ended up being quite last minute in terms of the details. All suppliers were booked well in advance though.

Where did you get your dress? How did you decide what you wanted to wear?
To be honest my dress was very last minute and it wasn't initially what I envisaged. Covid made dress shopping quite challenging and we weren't sure whether we would even be able to go ahead and so I deliberately left it late. I didn't want to be a position where I had changed my mind about my dress. I got it from Dress Place Bridal Boutique in Mansfield.
How would you describe your wedding style? traditional, vintage, contemporary, relaxed?
Classic, family wedding
Why did you choose to wear faux fur?
I like faux fur in the winter anyway - it seemed like the natural choice for keeping warm in the outside photos.

Was it important to be warm?
Absolutely!
Did you choose your faux fur bridal accessory because it looks great in photos!?
Partly yes
Did your bridesmaids/flower girls wear faux fur?
Yes, my sister wore the same stole but in grey.

Is there anything you would have changed or improved about our faux fur?
I had my seamstress add a hook and eye to the stole so I could be hands free for the photos. HM: We now offer this service - click here
Have you worn your faux fur accessory again since your wedding day?
No I haven't. The ivory colour does limit the opportunities to wear the stole but if the opportunity presents I won't hesitate to get it out.
Any suggestions for new styles you think other brides might like?
I quite liked the idea of a faux fur jacket as opposed to a stole. I thought a vintage looking jacket might be a bit more unusual but couldn't find one that fitted the bill.
Congratulations Caryn & Aaron!
