Held in the Scottish Borders, this December wedding location was perfect for our Englishman and Scottish Bride. They were married in the beautiful 12th century Linton Kirk Church, which sits perfectly in the unique border countryside. They had their party in a marquee at Castle Heaton, Northumberland. Their photographer was Alex Martin. Claire wore a faux fur Truffle Shoulder Wrap.

Tell us about the big day:

It was such a fun, relaxed day and we were so grateful to friends and family for helping us celebrate and be part of it.

What inspired the design and theme of the day?

We didn’t really have a theme as such but I’d always wanted to get married in the Scottish Borders where I’m from and it’s a place that is special to both of us. Andrew is English and I’m Scottish so a cross-border wedding made sense!

When did you start planning your dress and accessories?

I found my dress in May 2018 after trying on a few styles at a couple of different boutiques and then decided on accessories after that. I had quite a good idea of what I was after so it didn’t take too long, thankfully!

Where did you get your dress?

The lovely ladies at YAP Bridal, Newcastle. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Why did you choose to wear faux fur?

Getting married in December in Scotland, there was always a chance it would be a little cold, so I wanted something comfortable but elegant to keep the chill away.

Did we help you in any way to make sure your faux fur accessories were perfect?

I had some great advice about what styles might suit my frame and the dress best and ordered a couple of different ones to choose from.

What have you done with your faux fur accessory since the big day?

I have it in my wardrobe waiting for Winter! I’m so glad I got the truffle colour as it’s so versatile and I can wear it again and again.
